24 years on the tools, right here in Sudbury.
A local, specialist drylining business that cares about the bits you can't see as much as the bits you can.
Specialists, not generalists.
IS Drylining is built on 24 years in the trade. We've worked on everything from single stud walls in family homes to large commercial fit-outs, and drylining is the only thing we do.
That focus shows in the work. Partitions go up plumb and square, ceilings stay flat, the right board goes in the right place, and every job is left clean and ready for the next trade.
We're based in Great Cornard, Sudbury, and work across the whole of Suffolk and Essex for homeowners, landlords, builders, developers and main contractors. When you call, you speak to the people who'll price and carry out your job.

Three promises on every job
Done properly
Correct systems, correct fixings, correct centres. We'd rather do it once and do it right, so the finish lasts.
Straight talking
Clear, itemised written quotes and honest advice, even if that means a simpler, cheaper option.
Respect for your site
We turn up when we say we will, keep the work area tidy and clear away our offcuts as we go.

Your questions, answered
What is drylining?
Drylining means building walls and ceilings with plasterboard instead of traditional wet plaster on masonry. Boards are fixed to metal or timber frames, or bonded to walls with adhesive (dot and dab). It's quicker, cleaner and easy to upgrade for insulation, sound and fire performance.
How much does drylining cost?
Every job is different. Price depends on the system, the board specification, wall and ceiling heights, access and the overall area. We give free, itemised quotes. Start yours here, it takes about 2 minutes.
What's the difference between a suspended MF ceiling and a grid ceiling?
An MF ceiling is a hidden metal grid with plasterboard fixed underneath, giving a seamless, plastered look. A tile and grid ceiling has a visible grid with lay-in tiles that lift out, which is ideal for commercial spaces where you need regular access to services.
Is dot and dab or a stud wall better?
Dot and dab is best for lining existing, reasonably flat masonry walls quickly. A stud wall (or independent lining) is better when you're creating a new wall, when the existing wall is badly out of true, or when you need space for insulation and services. We'll advise on the best option when we survey.
Can you soundproof a wall between rooms or flats?
Yes. We install acoustic partitions and linings with mineral wool, acoustic-grade boards and, where needed, resilient bars or independent frames. These follow manufacturer-tested build-ups designed to reduce sound transfer.
Do you work for homeowners or only builders?
Both. We work directly for homeowners and landlords, and as a subcontractor for builders, developers and main contractors on housing and commercial projects.
How soon can you start?
It depends on our current workload and the size of your job. Tell us your preferred timescale in the quote form and we'll give you a realistic start date with your price.
Do you cover my area?
We cover the whole of Essex, including Chelmsford, Colchester, Braintree, Basildon, Southend-on-Sea, Harlow, Brentwood, Maldon and Clacton, and the whole of Suffolk, including Ipswich, Bury St Edmunds, Lowestoft, Felixstowe, Stowmarket and Haverhill. Use the postcode checker above, or just ask.
